The real strategic problem of this third millennium (Marco Emanuele)

In front of us, ever more clearly, there is the real strategic problem of this third millennium: the degeneration of the human condition and coexistence and the inability of politics to govern the global changes.

Politics, in some cases, or is it still "prisoner" of the '900 languages, or has not yet found the new synthesis in order to understand evolving worlds. Governments and their diplomats seem, in many cases, do not have the "cultural keys" for a new realism that we need if we consider the many and important "new actors" that are now "players" on the international scene; in fact, we are living in a world without leadership, in which politics has become an "object" of other powers, having renounced to mature visions of society and having renounced to give strategic directions to the global coexistence.

In all this, however, there is a "light", represented by the great role played by Pope Francis. I will just say that the absence of politics, and of global political leaders, is a lack which I consider very negatively.

I believe that today, in the wake of Francis, may emerge leaders who can give substance to the great historical insights of the "holder" of the throne of Peter. I do not see, in fact, political parties or other organizations that could generate the leadership of the future; and this is a serious issue for all of us.

Anyway, my feeling is that we have not much time.
