Fundamental human issues and rationality (Edgar Morin)
E. Morin, in the conversation with G. Vattimo mentioned in the previous post, speaks about the problem of a political reductionism that has circumscribed the political field of action only to the economy, and to a particular economic vision, not open and not innovative. Political reductionism is leading humanity to degeneration (Morin uses the word "catastrophe"). It is slowly emerging the awareness that the problems of humanity can not be resolved ipso facto through the economic development. The fundamental human issues can not be understood only with rationality because they therefore "go beyond" our paradigms merely quantitative and materials.
