Resistances (Marco Emanuele)

When Pope Francis says "pray for me", what does he say ? I attempt an interpretation, entirely personal. In that expression I read all the difficulties and the complexity that a truly epoch-making enterprise implicates. Anyone who wants, today, to rethink and rebuild the human coexistence meets great resistances. In the case of Pope Francis, there are resistances within the Church-institution, in difficulty in honoring the simple but disarming message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ; also, Pope Francis has resistances from the so-called "international community", prisoner of a technocratic "non culture" and wrapped in a dangerous and degenerative political vacuum.

"Pray for me," then, means to call everyone to join with each other in the name of the common nature and with the God of Mercy (the unity of christians in the unity of humanity in creation); "Pray for me", at the same time, appealing to the responsibility of each human person, mystery that becomes history.
