The transdisciplinary work need to Know in order to Understand the reality of the World-of-Life. In this, we must be witnesses of the complexity of human experience.
Despite being very informed, we do not Know. The clash, I think, is between the complexity of reality and our inability to understand and accept it for what it is; in short, it is the clash, still unresolved, between our linear thinking (and separate knowledges) and reality.
In the previous post I wrote that university is an extraordinary example of a possible "place of transdisciplinarity" and, at the same time, I say that it is an example of how transdisciplinarity is betrayed, betraying the idea of university as "universitas". As academic disciplines compete rather than dialogue, university is dead because it forgets Knowledge in the name of a success of itself as a cultural and educational institution and not as a "place of education and training for life".
What does the dialogue between academic disciplines mean ? On the one hand, it is to recognize that there is something (Life, his Experience and his Knowledge) that goes beyond the particular disciplines and, on the other hand, means to underline that Knowledge of Life Experience can be studied only by the integration of the contributions of each discipline.
