Italy is the key to fighting ISIS in Libya (Matteo Garavoglia, Leore Ben Chorin, Brookings)
The ISIS buildup in Libya is undeniable. U.S. Commander General of Africa Command David Rodriguez testified to the Senate Armed Services Committee on March 8 that the Islamic State in Libya represents a serious and growing threat to the security and interests of America and its allies throughout the region.

Obama and the Libya blame game: free-riding allies? (Jason W. Davidson, Aspenia online)
In a recent interview with The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg, President Obama accused America's European allies of being "free riders." He went on to say "I had more faith in the Europeans, given Libya’s proximity, being invested in the follow-up...." For Obama, Libya today is a "mess" because the US' European allies -he singles out Britain and France - did not carry their share of the burden and stabilize Libya after the coalition air war in 2011 that led to the fall of Muammar Qaddafi.

Five Years on: the Destruction of Libya Continues (Alexander Mezyaev, Strategic Culture Foundation)
Five years ago, on Feb. 15, 2011, a war was launched against a project of global significance, which will remain in history as the Libyan Jamahiriya. Libya had shown the international community that there were alternatives to capitalism as a path of development, even after the collapse of the Soviet Union. This model of development that were based on the principles of social justice was unacceptable to the West and was a primary cause of the outbreak of war in 2011.

Libya: Something Should Be Done (Neville Teller, Eurasia Review)
“Something should be done” is a phrase which resonates with students of Britain’s political history. It was the off-the-cuff comment made by short-term King Edward VIII in November 1936, just a month before he abdicated to marry the American divorcée Wallis Simpson. He was visiting an abandoned colliery in an area of high unemployment.

Is ISIS preparing to relocate to Libya? (Azeem Ibrahim, Al Arabiya)
I have already written that ISIS seems to be preparing for defeat in Syria and Iraq. I wrote that Assad is being bolstered by Russia, the Kurds are being bolstered by the West and Shiite Iraq is supported by Iran.
