Governing the growing coexistence of differences (Marco Emanuele)

We must realize that the totalitarian idea is not dead. That said, the problem is to think in terms of contexts, distinguishing. What happens in Europe confronts us with some fundamental questions: what is our idea of integration between different humans? do we have an idea of government of integration in our countries and in our cities?

We must never forget that, in our cities, we live the problem of growing coexistence of differences, which all have equal dignity from the human point of view. Reduce this problem to the security of our territories is misunderstanding the problem; we all have the right to live in peace but, also, we all have a responsibility to embrace the complexity of coexistence.

Integration is not a technique but it is a process that must be shared; the risk of considering integration in mechanic terms, and seen it only on one side, is to make integration a "dominant model". If integration becomes a dominant model, the result is the competitive clash of divergent interests; this is what happens and, in this context, the "ISIS-Daesh's charm" can only do followers in growing.
