After the '900, we have no strategic ideas for the third millennium (Marco Emanuele)

Democracy is not a point of arrival but it is always a starting point. Of course, it is undeniable that democracy is a great achievement but it is equally undeniable that it is based on our personal responsibility as persons-citizens, re-creators.

Democracy has criteria and advantages that set it apart from authoritarian or totalitarian regimes but it can not be considered as an unquestionable model; paradoxically, it is precisely in the absolutization of democracy that begins its degeneration. In our responsibility as citizens lives the imperfection of democracy as perfectible human process.

It's time to re-think to re-found democracy and, in this, to re-think to re-found politics; reduced to a "vacuum", politics seems increasingly unable to have historical visions of human co-existence in creation. After the '900, "prisoners" of  the inhumane triumphant, we have no strategic ideas for the third millennium, except that of  the "permanent war".
