Public administration can improve people’s lives and make a difference in communities. In September 2015, the adoption of the Sustainable Development Goals by United Nations Member States marked a new worldwide commitment to end poverty, fight inequality and injustice, and tackle climate change and environmental degradation. Public institutions are instrumental in reaching the 17 goals; an inclusive and accountable public administration is critical for achieving sustainable development.
